I've realized something about copy trading...

It's easy to copy a trader when everything is green. The real challenge is staying patient during a few losing trades.
No trader wins every trade. That's why I believe choosing the right strategy is more important than chasing the highest ROI.
What's the first thing you check before copying a trader: ROI, win rate, or risk score?

Indeed, mindset is more important than technology.

I usually check the risk score first. If the ROI is high but the drawdown is large, I don’t dare to follow—I'd rather be steadier and make a little less than risk getting liquidated. What you said about patience is spot on; the biggest fear when copying trades is not being able to resist and manually closing the position.

Every time you see consecutive losses, panic, but think about it—there is no perfect strategy; sticking to discipline is the way to go.

ROI is high but the risk is also high, so I choose the ones with a lower risk score.

Choosing a strategy instead of an ROI is agreed with.

My first thing is to look at the total trading duration—I don’t dare follow anything too new; I need at least a stable track record of over three months.

Well said—the hardest part is actually holding yourself back. Even though you set up copy trading, when you see losses you want to close the position, but then you miss the rebound that comes afterward. Trust in the system is crucial.

Win rate isn’t everything—risk-reward ratio is what matters.

Risk score #1, ROI #2.

I think the mindset issue is whether you trust this strategy. If you don’t even understand how the other person trades, then when the price drops you definitely won’t be able to hold. So before I follow along, I carefully read through his strategy description and historical trade analysis, and I don’t blindly follow.
