Gate, the world’s leading crypto asset trading platform, continues to expand its TradFi capabilities, now offering users access to traditional financial asset Contract for Difference (CFD) trading services. This includes gold, forex, indices, commodities, and select popular stocks. The feature is fully integrated into the Gate App, marking the platform’s move beyond crypto trading into the realm of traditional financial asset price trading and further enhancing its multi-asset product suite.

Gate TradFi contracts use USDx as both the margin and account display unit. USDx is not a fiat currency or cryptocurrency; it serves as an internal unit for accounting and balance display within TradFi assets. USDx is pegged 1:1 to assets denominated in USDT. When users transfer USDT to their TradFi accounts, the balance appears in USDx, while the assets remain fully backed by USDT. There’s no need for manual conversion, and users incur no additional fees or custody charges.

The trading mechanism for Gate TradFi contracts differs significantly from perpetual crypto contracts. TradFi contracts follow traditional financial market rules, with fixed trading hours and scheduled market closures. Leverage is set at fixed multiples and cannot be manually adjusted. Margin is managed on a cross-margin basis, allowing hedging between long and short positions within the same trading pair based on lot size. Profit and loss are calculated against counterparty prices, and overnight fees apply during market closure periods. Overall, the rules align closely with mainstream CFD markets.

Regarding fees and leverage, Gate TradFi contracts offer up to 500x leverage for major products like forex and indices, and up to 5x leverage for stock CFDs. Notably, Gate TradFi stands out for its competitive fee structure, with transaction fees as low as $0.018 per trade, giving users a transparent and controllable cost framework.

On the system and risk management side, Gate TradFi utilizes the MT5 (MetaTrader 5) platform for trading services. Account data and trade records are synchronized between the Gate App and MT5 client. The platform employs a margin-ratio-based forced liquidation mechanism: when the account margin ratio drops to 50% or below, the system triggers forced liquidation according to predefined rules, gradually closing relevant positions to manage overall risk exposure.

Additionally, Gate has launched a TradFi experience campaign. Users who sign up can receive up to 110 USDT in trial rewards, and upon completing trades, unlock up to 3,000 USDT in tiered incentives to support their first TradFi trading experience.

The expansion of TradFi features enables Gate’s trading ecosystem to extend further into traditional financial asset price trading. This gives users more options for multi-asset price analysis, risk hedging, and trading decisions all within a single platform. The product design helps reduce the complexity of cross-platform operations and reflects the trend of crypto trading platforms aligning their product structure and risk management practices with mature financial market standards.

As the boundaries between crypto and traditional financial markets continue to blur, demand for multi-asset and cross-market trading is expected to grow. Gate’s ongoing upgrades to TradFi may represent a key step in building comprehensive trading infrastructure, offering the industry a new practical model for integrating different asset classes within a compliant framework.
