According to Xinhua News Agency, on July 17, the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference released the Global AI Innovation Index Report 2026, which evaluated AI innovation development across 46 countries across five dimensions: foundational support, resources and environment, scientific research and development, industry and applications, and international cooperation.
The report found that AI infrastructure continues to expand with energy supply emerging as a critical future variable. The large language model industry is shifting from general-purpose to vertical applications and from training to inference optimization, driving business process transformation. Global AI governance demand is accelerating, with China advancing multi-dimensional governance frameworks and inclusive cooperation initiatives.
