Across Solana Relayer Drained of $4.5M via Forged Deposits on July 17; No User Funds Lost

On July 17, 2026, an attacker exploited a missing 8-byte discriminator check in Risk Labs' offchain Solana relayer code to forge deposit events and drain approximately $4.5 million from the relayer's capital. The attacker submitted 1,627 forged deposits totaling roughly $41.7 million in face value across 18 destination chains; the relayer filled 581 before Solana was disabled. No user funds were lost or at risk; all genuine transfers were completed or refunded the same day. Risk Labs deployed a root-cause fix within five hours and restored full Solana service in approximately 12 hours via fallback CCTP routing.
