Gate News message, April 28 — AI recruitment startup Dex announced the completion of a $5.3 million seed funding round led by Notion Capital, with participation from a16z Speedrun, Concept Ventures, and angel investors from OpenAI and other companies. The round brings Dex's total funding to $8.4 million. Founded by Paddy Lambros, a former advisor at Atomico, Dex positions itself as an "AI talent agent" focused on high-end technical talent markets, including AI researchers and software engineers.
Dex has registered over 15,000 engineers and serves more than 50 technology companies including ElevenLabs and Synthesia. The platform interacts with job seekers via voice or text, builds candidate profiles using models from OpenAI and Anthropic, and matches candidates with hiring companies through its matching engine. Rather than selling software to enterprises, Dex charges a 20%-30% commission on the candidate's salary upon successful placement.
Since launching paid services in late 2025, Dex has achieved approximately $1.8 million in annualized revenue and expects to reach profitability within the year.
