According to AMD enterprise solutions vice president Ravi Kuppuswamy, the company's Zen 6 Venice CPU delivered significantly better performance than NVIDIA's Vera CPU last week at the Advancing AI 2026 conference. AMD had initially expected a 10% advantage but achieved 20% single-core performance gains and 2.2x integer throughput in SPEC CPU 2026 estimated benchmarks, Kuppuswamy said. The dual-socket EPYC 9996 with 256 cores compared against NVIDIA's dual-socket 88-core Vera, though both scores remain unverified by SPEC and use different compiler optimizations.
