According to The Block, on July 23, Anthropic was selected to participate in the UK Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) second-phase Supercharged Sandbox program. The company will provide its Claude AI models, including Claude Code and Claude Cowork, to participating institutions for applications in agent payments, fraud detection, compliance automation, and AI governance.
The program admitted 21 organizations in this cohort, including Scottish Widows, Money Advice Trust, and TrueLayer. The FCA received 199 applications, a 51% increase from the first phase, reflecting growing institutional interest in controlled AI testing environments. The initiative continues FCA partnerships with Nvidia and NayaOne, which provide computing resources and development tools.
