According to reports, Anthropic has launched a custom artificial intelligence chip development project and is in discussions with Samsung Electronics regarding potential manufacturing partnerships using its 2-nanometer process and advanced packaging technologies, as of July 2. The announcement triggered a sharp decline in the semiconductor sector, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index declining 12% over two consecutive trading days.

Separately, the U.S. added 57,000 jobs in June, roughly half of market expectations, while the unemployment rate unexpectedly fell to its lowest level in one year, signaling mixed economic signals.
