According to reports on July 16, Apple is preparing the next-generation iPad mini with OLED display technology, set to debut as early as October 2026, marking the most significant redesign in five years. The new model, codenamed J510, will feature OLED for the first time, delivering higher contrast, more vibrant colors, and improved display quality.
Apple also plans to refresh its entry-level iPad and iPad Air in 2027. The entry-level iPad (J581) is expected to launch in Q1 2027 with processor upgrades, while iPad Air models will come in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes (J807 and J837) in spring 2027. As OLED panels cost more than LCD alternatives, the new iPad mini is expected to command a higher price, building on current starting prices of $599 for iPad mini, $449 for entry-level iPad, and $949 for the 13-inch iPad Air.
