Apple Lobbies Trump Administration to Purchase Chinese DRAM Chips After $263B Market Cap Drop This Week

According to Financial Times, Apple raised prices for MacBook and iPad this week, wiping out $263 billion in market value, as the company lobbies the Trump administration to approve purchases of memory chips from Chinese chipmaker Changxin Storage. Apple seeks to add the supplier to its memory sourcing list to ease financial pressures amid rising component costs. Changxin Storage is currently on the U.S. Defense Department's list of Chinese military-linked enterprises.
