According to Morgan Stanley's July 14 report, Apple raised prices on Mac, iPad, and accessories by 15-54% within two weeks, driven primarily by surging chip costs rather than profit margin expansion. The report projects DRAM and NAND chip costs will climb 190% and 280% respectively in 2027. A single iPad's chip costs are expected to increase from $51 to $144, potentially consuming 30-40% of gross margins on that component alone.
