According to 9to5Mac, on June 22, Anthropic may use Apple Wallet's digital identity verification feature to authenticate Claude users' nationality and identity. The move follows U.S. government export restrictions that prompted Anthropic to close Fable 5 and Mythos 5 to foreign users due to jailbreak vulnerabilities. If Anthropic successfully verifies U.S. citizenship only, the restricted models could resume service. Given Anthropic's prior integration of Apple's age verification API, the company may prioritize Apple Wallet over third-party identity services for compliance purposes.
