According to Tuesday's announcement, Augustus raised $180 million in Series B funding led by VC firm Tiger Global, with participation from Hummingbird, QED, and founders of Nubank, Ramp, Circle and Deel, valuing the U.S. fintech at $1 billion.
Augustus operates a federally chartered national bank designed to give international fintechs and banks direct API access to USD accounts and payment rails. Its core platform, called Marble, supports stablecoins alongside traditional payment systems including SWIFT, ACH and SEPA, with round-the-clock settlement and AI-powered features. The startup plans to expand services to Latin America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Augustus is among conditional national bank charter recipients approved by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, joining other digital asset firms like Circle and Kraken in securing banking infrastructure.
