Beijing Upgrades Flash Flood Risk to Red Alert on July 11; Five Districts at High Risk

According to a joint announcement on July 11 at 3 p.m., Beijing's Water Affairs and Meteorological Bureau issued a red-level flash flood risk alert for five districts: Pinggu, Huairou, Miyun, Fangshan, and Mentougou. The alert, issued July 11 at 3 p.m., is effective from 7 p.m. July 11 through 8 a.m. July 12, with a very high likelihood of flash flooding. The public is urged to stay away from mountain gullies and avoid outdoor water-related activities.
