BOE's Potential Regulatory Easing May Boost UK Gilt Demand, ING Says on July 7

According to ING Bank, on July 7, the Bank of England's financial stability report may include changes to bank capital requirements that could increase demand for UK government bonds (gilts). ING noted that leverage ratio regulations, which currently constrain gilt repurchase transactions, may be eased or gilts could be excluded from leverage ratio calculations, making them significantly more attractive assets for banks and driving substantial demand growth.
