Cathay Pacific Forecasts First-Half Profit of HK$6-6.5 Billion, Up 62-75% Year-on-Year

AIR CHINA-0.24%

Cathay Pacific Airways expects consolidated profit attributable to shareholders of approximately HK$6-6.5 billion for the first half through June, including a HK$1.4 billion gain from the dilution of its stake in Air China. This represents year-on-year growth of 62-75% compared to HK$3.7 billion in the same period last year.

The airline's performance was supported by sustained strong demand for Cathay Pacific and Cathay Cargo, improved results from Hong Kong Express, and better earnings contributions from associated companies. For the six-month period, passenger traffic reached 16 million, up 17% year-on-year, while cargo volume grew 9% to 884,900 tonnes.
