China's NDRC Discloses Five AI Development Priorities for 2026-2030

According to Guru Club, China's National Development and Reform Commission disclosed five work directions for artificial intelligence development during the upcoming five-year plan period on July 7. The five priorities are: accelerating self-reliant innovation in models, computing power, and data; strengthening application-driven development across high-value sectors; deepening ecosystem collaboration; maintaining open cooperation; and ensuring AI safety and controllability through enhanced legislation and risk management. The announcement was made by Wang Ruomeng, vice director of the Innovation and High-tech Development Department, at a Shanghai government press conference.
