Cisco Lays Off 471 in California This Week, Cuts Part of Global 4,000-Position Reduction

According to a filing with California's Employment Development Department reported by the Los Angeles Times, Cisco announced layoffs of 471 employees in California this week, including three San Francisco Bay Area offices. In May, the company notified employees it would cut fewer than 4,000 positions globally, representing less than 5% of its workforce. The cuts span software engineering, product management, design and business operations.
