DTCC Launches Live Tokenized Securities Trading With Nearly 40 Financial Institutions

According to ChainCatcher and The Wall Street Journal, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) began live production trading of tokenized stocks and U.S. Treasuries on Wednesday, advancing its tokenization work from testing to actual operations. Nearly 40 financial institutions and technology providers participated, including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, Vanguard, and the New York Stock Exchange. Trading on day one covered collateral, repurchase agreements, equities, margin, and asset transfers, with tokenized assets including Microsoft and Circle shares, Invesco QQQ Trust, SPDR S&P 500 ETF, iShares short-term Treasury ETF, and government bonds of various maturities. DTCC indicated the current phase represents initial limited production trading, with full service launch planned for October.
