ECB Governing Council Member Panetta Affirms Commitment to Anchoring Inflation Expectations

According to Jin10, ECB Governing Council member and Bank of Italy Governor Fabio Panetta said on Wednesday that the central bank must remain cautious to anchor inflation expectations, even amid geopolitical uncertainty. In assessing future decisions, the ECB will carefully evaluate energy market conditions, economic developments, wage growth, and commodity and services price trends, with the goal of firmly anchoring inflation expectations and limiting secondary effects from various shocks.
