Gate News message, April 27 — Ethereum surged above $2,400 this morning, triggering two large-scale liquidations on a major perpetual futures platform, according to Hyperinsight monitoring. A whale address starting with 0x5bc faced sequential liquidations on its ETH short position, resulting in a combined loss of 1,000 ETH, worth approximately $2.395 million, with realized losses of around $68,000.

The short position was established last night. At the same time, the same address also opened a 50 BTC short position with 20x leverage, valued at approximately $3.95 million, with a liquidation price at $80,662.
