According to Foresight News, Ethereum Foundation interim co-executive director Bastian Aue recently outlined the foundation's core mission and responded to personnel-related disputes. Aue stated that EF exists to ensure Ethereum remains a truly permissionless sovereign infrastructure with censorship resistance, protection against capital and state capture, privacy, and security—not to pursue the foundation's own influence, cater to short-term speculators, or endorse ecosystem projects. Regarding recent staff departures, Aue said the reasons include strategic disagreements, role fit, normal organizational changes, and personal choices. The foundation does not discuss individual personnel matters on social media but acknowledged that departing employees should leave with dignity. EF may clarify facts or policy positions if public statements significantly mislead the public regarding the foundation's direction or decisions, but will not publicize personal matters.
