According to The Block, Zero Network, Ethereum's Layer 2 network focused on zero-gas transactions, announced its shutdown today (May 22) after 18 months of operation. Launched in November 2024, the network cited that while the vision of building a zero-gas rollup remains valid, maintaining an independent blockchain is not the right path to achieve it. Users must withdraw their NFTs, ETH, and other tokens across chains by July 31, as new deposits have been suspended.
