Federal Reserve Lacked Access to Anthropic's Mythos AI for 3 Months, Warsh Confirms as of July 15

According to congressional testimony on July 15, the Federal Reserve still lacked access to Anthropic's Claude Mythos AI model even as it was deployed to roughly 50 organizations for cybersecurity vulnerability assessments. Chairman Kevin Warsh told the Senate Banking Committee that the Fed had been requesting access to Mythos and other cutting-edge AI models to help protect the nation's financial system. The situation stemmed from an April meeting where Federal Reserve officials and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent convened with bank CEOs to warn of Mythos's unprecedented cybersecurity risks to financial institutions.
