According to Reuters and company correspondence reviewed by the publication, a fire broke out at a data center facility in New Delhi that serves global technology companies, triggering concerns among customers about potential data loss spanning decades and causing disruptions to Google Cloud services in India. The facility, STT Global Data Centres India, is jointly owned by Singapore-based ST Telemedia and Tata Communications. A company letter to customers indicated the fire caused "severe damage" to portions of the site, complicating data recovery efforts.
