Foreign Investors Pour $121 Billion Into US Stocks in May, Second-Largest Monthly Inflow on Record

According to The Kobeissi Letter citing Reuters data, foreign private investors poured $121 billion into US stocks in May, marking the second-largest monthly inflow on record. This represents a $35.2 billion month-over-month increase, continuing a trend of consecutive monthly gains. Year-to-date, foreign private investors have purchased approximately $270 billion of US stocks.

Meanwhile, foreign investors recorded significant outflows from other Asian markets during the same period: $31 billion from South Korean stocks in June (largest monthly outflow on record), $28 billion from South Korean stocks in May, and $18 billion from Taiwanese stocks in June (second-largest sale on record).
