Global Foreign Direct Investment Reaches $1.6 Trillion in 2025, Up 6% as Two-Year Decline Ends

According to the UN Conference on Trade and Development, global foreign direct investment rose 6% to $1.6 trillion in 2025, ending a two-year period of decline. The report, released on July 7, noted that the recovery remains limited in scope, with fragile and unequal distribution.

Investment flows showed significant regional disparities. Developed economies saw FDI inflows increase 11%, while developing economies grew only 2%. Additionally, 80% of global FDI concentrated in just 20 economies.
