According to Alphabet's recent Q2 filing, Google holds approximately 6% of SpaceX, valued at around $92.1 billion—comprising $80 billion in restricted shares and $14.1 billion in shares subject to lockup until Q3 2027. The investment reflects a 150-fold increase in SpaceX's valuation since Google's initial $1 billion investment in 2015 alongside Fidelity.

The partnership extends beyond equity ownership into critical AI infrastructure. Google has signed a contract to lease SpaceX's AI computing resources for approximately $30 billion from October 2024 through June 2029, paying $920 million monthly for access to roughly 110,000 Nvidia GPUs and related hardware. The companies are also exploring construction of orbital data centers to leverage satellite-based power, ultra-low latency communications, and advanced cooling systems.
