Google, Meta, PayPal and Major Crypto Firms Pledge to Combat Wildlife Trafficking on June 22

According to Reuters, on June 22, Google, Meta, TikTok, Alibaba and major crypto companies including PayPal, Chainalysis and TRM Labs pledged to combat illegal wildlife trafficking. The companies, representing one-fifth of the global e-commerce market and 90% of global social media users, will deploy AI to detect and remove illegal wildlife product listings, monitor transactions and cut off related fund flows. The UN estimates illegal wildlife trade generates $23 billion annually.
