H100 Spot Rental Prices Drop 40% to $2.42/Hour, But One-Year Contracts Hit $2.65 on June 26

According to SemiAnalysis on June 26, H100 cloud index spot rental prices have fallen to $2.42 per hour, down approximately 40% from May highs, raising concerns about cooling AI infrastructure demand. However, the research firm noted that spot prices reflect short-term supply fluctuations rather than true market demand.

In contrast, one-year H100 rental contracts have risen from around $1.70 per hour last year to approximately $2.65 per hour currently. SemiAnalysis attributed the divergence to a shift from experimental, short-term usage toward long-term, production-scale deployments, indicating that AI infrastructure investment is transitioning from proof-of-concept to commercial operations.
