Hong Kong Bank Stocks Surge on U.S. Rate Hike Expectations, Dah Sing Group Up Over 7%

According to HKEJ, on July 24, Hong Kong local bank stocks surged amid rising expectations for U.S. interest rate hikes. Dah Sing Group rose over 7%, while Bank of China Hong Kong climbed 4.7%. The gains reflect expectations that higher rates will expand bank net interest margins. CME FedWatch data showed the market pricing in approximately 80% probability of a Federal Reserve rate hike in September, up from 68% on Wednesday.
