HSBC Integrates 7 Functional Departments with Hang Seng; 6 Led by Hang Seng Executives in Early 2026

According to media reports, HSBC Holdings has integrated seven functional departments between HSBC Hong Kong and Hang Seng Bank in early 2026, following Hang Seng's privatization completion at the start of the year. Under the new arrangement, six of the seven departments are led by Hang Seng executives, who now report directly to group leadership, while the corresponding HSBC department heads report to their Hang Seng counterparts. The only exception is the Chief Operating Officer role, which remains with HSBC following the retirement of Hang Seng's COO.

The integrated departments include Corporate Communications, Company Secretary and Corporate Governance, Risk Control and Compliance, Information Technology, Internal Audit, Finance, and Chief Operating Officer. HSBC stated the consolidation enhances overall capability and enables better service to existing and new customers.
