iiDENTIFii has appointed Marco Wagener, co-founder and former CTO, as CEO, effective January 1, 2026. Wagener has led the company's technical and product strategy since inception and will now oversee its next growth phase.

The appointment comes as AI-driven identity fraud accelerates. According to the company's Identity Index 2024, iOS injection attacks surged 740% year-on-year, with 59.2% of respondents citing AI-driven fraud as the biggest emerging threat. Globally, the digital identity market is projected to grow 17.54% annually over five years, with government-to-person payment rails in African markets identified as a key growth driver.
