India Commits Additional $13.3B to Boost Domestic Chip Manufacturing

India has committed an additional 1.28 trillion rupees (approximately $13.3 billion) to strengthen its domestic semiconductor manufacturing sector. The new allocation builds upon a $10 billion incentive program launched in 2021, which had pledged to cover half of semiconductor project construction costs as part of efforts to establish India as a global manufacturing hub.
