Intel's stock rallied 4.37% in after-hours trading on Thursday to $104.61 following strong second-quarter results. The semiconductor company reported adjusted earnings per share of 42 cents, nearly double the 21-cent consensus estimate, with revenue reaching $16.1 billion against a forecast of $14.42 billion.
Data Center and AI revenue jumped 59% year-over-year to $6.3 billion, driven by growing demand for server processors supporting AI workloads. CEO Lip-Bu Tan stated, "AI is driving unprecedented demand for compute. As we continue to execute, Intel is well-positioned to capture sustainable growth across our CPU franchise." The company also raised third-quarter guidance to approximately 38 cents per share on revenue between $15.8 billion and $16.8 billion, above analyst expectations of 27 cents on $15.1 billion.
