According to Yonhap Infomax, Japan's Nikkei 225 index fell 2.25% to 67,204.22 on July 16 morning, while the TOPIX index dropped 0.84% to 4,053.74. The decline followed a selloff in U.S. semiconductor stocks overnight, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index falling over 2%. Japanese chip and AI-related stocks led the losses, including Tokyo Electron, Advantest, and others.
