Kalshi Perps Hit $1B Volume in One Week, Polymarket Team Questions Trading Activity

According to CNBC, Kalshi's perpetual contracts reached over $1 billion in trading volume within one week of launch. Kalshi's crypto lead John Wang announced the milestone on X, noting the product had not yet been publicly released.

Polymarket team member Mustafa Aljadery questioned the figure by inquiring about open interest data. Community members also expressed skepticism, suggesting the volume may reflect fee-free or leveraged trades, with some noting Kalshi's open interest at only around $4.5 million.
