Korean Defense Stocks Await Major Export Orders Worth Up to 10 Trillion Won in H2 2026

According to DS Investment Securities on July 15, five major Korean defense companies are expected to secure large export orders in the second half of 2026, with the brokerage maintaining a buy rating on all five firms. The companies—Hanwha Aerospace, LIG Ndefence & Aerospace, Hanwha Systems, Hyundai Rotem, and Korea Aerospace Industries—are anticipated to receive contracts from the U.S., Spain, Peru, Iraq, and the Middle East.

Key contracts expected include Hyundai Rotem's approximately 3 trillion won deal with Peru for K2 tanks and armored vehicles in July-August, Hanwha Aerospace's participation in the U.S. Army's 10 trillion won wheeled self-propelled howitzer modernization program in July, and LIG's expected 1.5 trillion won sales of the Chiongung-2 air-defense system to Qatar and Kuwait in H2 2026.
