KOSDAQ Breaks Below 800-Level for First Time in 10 Months Amid Chip Sector Concerns

According to the Korean Stock Exchange, South Korea's KOSDAQ index fell below the 800-level for the first time in 10 months on July 8, as of 11:10 a.m., amid concerns over a semiconductor sector peak-out cycle and escalating U.S.-Iran geopolitical tensions. The KOSPI also fell sharply in early trading, extending losses from semiconductor stocks seen the previous day.

Foreign investor outflows continued throughout the session, increasing anxiety across financial markets as geopolitical risks weighed on investor sentiment.
