Kucoin Integrates Stablecoins Into Argentina's Transferencias 3.0 and Peru's Yape on June 22

According to Kucoin's announcement on June 22, the cryptocurrency platform expanded its payment system into Argentina and Peru, integrating stablecoins and crypto directly into existing QR-code payment networks. Kucoin Pay will connect to Argentina's government-regulated Transferencias 3.0 system, which mandates interoperable QR codes allowing consumers to pay with competing digital wallets including Mercado Pago. In Peru, the integration links to Yape and Plin, two mobile payment applications that have largely replaced cash for retail transactions.

The system automatically routes and converts cryptocurrencies or dollar-pegged stablecoins into local fiat currency during the checkout process, bypassing the need for merchants to establish specialized infrastructure. Alicia Kao, Managing Director of Kucoin, stated the expansion aims to connect blockchain-based assets "with the banking and payment systems people already rely on," positioning real-world utility as the next phase of crypto adoption in high-inflation markets.
