Maersk Adjusts Emergency Cost Surcharges from Oceania to Middle East from Aug 1

According to Maersk, on July 16, the company adjusted emergency cost surcharges (ECS) from Oceania to Middle East region, effective August 1, 2026. The new rates include Oceania-Oman at $900 (20-foot dry container) and $1,500 (40/45-foot dry container); Oceania-Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia with identical rates; and Oceania-Red Sea region at $1,800 (20-foot) and $3,000 (40/45-foot). Rates for refrigerated containers range from $950 to $3,800 depending on route and container type. Red Sea region surcharges remain in effect until further notice.
