NATO Raises Concerns Over China's Military Activities; Beijing Addresses Allegations on July 9

According to China's Foreign Ministry on July 9, NATO allies expressed security concerns about China's military activities, technology advancements, and relations with Russia at a recent summit. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said NATO, as a regional defensive alliance, should stop using China as a pretext and abandon Cold War mentality. Mao Ning reiterated that China remains a force for world peace and poses no threat to Euro-Atlantic security, urging NATO to correct its perception of China and cease portraying it as a threat.
