Nuva Digital Raises $5.2M in Seed Funding to Build RWA Yield Platform, Led by Morgan Creek Digital

Gate News message, April 28 — Nuva Digital, a real-world asset (RWA) yield platform co-incubated by Animoca Brands and Nuva Labs, has closed a $5.2 million seed funding round. Morgan Creek Digital led the round, with Ulu Ventures as a major investor.

The funding was completed in a single tranche as the company's first external capital raise. The round was structured as a priced Series Seed equity round with token warrants; the company's valuation was not disclosed. As part of the round, Sachin Jaitly, general partner at Morgan Creek Digital, joined Nuva Digital's board alongside Mike Cagney, co-founder and executive chairman of Figure Technologies, and Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands.

Nuva Finance operates as a self-custodial marketplace allowing users to earn yield through vaults holding tokenized real-world assets. The platform initially offers nuYLDS and nuHELOCs vaults backed by Figure Technologies' onchain RWA assets: YLDS, a U.S. SEC-registered yielding stablecoin security, and HELOCs, fixed-interest rate home equity loans with over $16 billion funded to date. When users deposit USDC, the vault issues nvAsset tokens representing proportional ownership, with vault returns reflected in token price appreciation over time.

Nuva Digital aims to disrupt traditional alternative asset platforms such as iCapital, CAIS, and Nasdaq Private Market by enabling direct connections between asset issuers and users. The company plans to launch a NUVA utility token and has not disclosed timelines for platform launch or token details.
