Offshore CNY Breaks 6.80 Against USD for Second Consecutive Day

According to CCTV Finance, offshore Chinese yuan surpassed 6.80 against the U.S. dollar for the second consecutive day on May 9. Shanghai Finance and Development Lab director Zeng Gang noted the move reflects continued U.S. dollar weakness and China's sustained trade competitiveness. The onshore and offshore yuan rates moved in tandem, indicating significantly strengthened market confidence in Chinese assets.
