The Ethereum-based MEV bot JaredFromSubway lost approximately $7 million in a recent attack. The attacker constructed a fraudulent MEV arbitrage path to trick the MEV bot into generating token approvals, and then used the open approvals to transfer WETH, USDC, and USDT from the MEV bot’s contract to a wallet controlled by the attacker.
