Onsemi to Acquire Synaptics for $7 Billion in All-Stock Deal to Expand into Physical AI

Onsemi announced today, June 26, that it will acquire Synaptics for approximately $7 billion in an all-stock transaction to accelerate its expansion from power and sensing into intelligent systems and physical AI (Physical AI) applications. The deal is expected to close in mid-2027.

The combination aims to position Onsemi at the intersection of four pillars: power, sensing, connectivity, and computing. Onsemi projects the merger will add $30 billion to its addressable market by 2030, reaching $243 billion, while generating approximately $200 million in annual synergies and producing non-GAAP earnings per share accretion within 18 months of closing.
