Polymarket to Refund Users After Third-Party Vendor Hack Leads to $3M Theft

ETH-3.04%
According to Decrypt, Polymarket suffered a security breach on June 25 after a compromised third-party vendor allowed hackers to inject malicious code into the platform's website. The exploit resulted in approximately $3 million in stolen customer funds from fewer than 15 user accounts. The attackers targeted pUSD holdings in affected wallets, converting the stolen assets to ETH. Polymarket stated the frontend vulnerability has been contained and removed, with affected users set to receive full reimbursement. This marks the platform's second security incident in two months, following a $700,000 wallet compromise last month.
