Qatar, Jordan Discuss U.S.-Iran Tensions, Call for Diplomatic De-escalation on July 12

According to Qatar's Foreign Ministry statement on July 12, Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister spoke with Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to discuss escalating U.S.-Iran tensions. Both sides stressed the importance of diplomacy and de-escalation efforts.

Qatar called for implementation of a U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding and emphasized the need to preserve freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
