Retail Investors Pour 7.3 Trillion Won Into Samsung, SK Hynix Leveraged ETFs as Stocks Tumble Over 19%

According to the Korean Exchange and ETF CHECK, retail investors poured 7.34 trillion won into Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix single-stock leveraged exchange-traded funds (ETFs) between June 16 and July 15, despite significant declines in the underlying stocks. During the same period, SK Hynix shares fell 19.49% and Samsung Electronics fell 24.33%. The KODEX SK Hynix Single-Stock Leveraged ETF attracted the largest inflow at 3.45 trillion won, followed by KODEX Samsung Electronics at 1.51 trillion won. However, all leveraged ETF products have fallen below their 20,000 won issuance price due to the compounding effect of repeated price fluctuations on leveraged instruments.
