Russia's Central Bank Confirms Digital Ruble Launch on September 1

According to Cointelegraph, Russia's central bank governor Elvira Nabiullina confirmed on July 3 that the digital ruble will launch on September 1 as planned, with preparations "fully complete." The digital ruble will serve as a supplement to the ruble and initially be accepted by financial and credit institutions.

Deputy Governor Vladimir Chistyukhin stated that related legislation will take effect on September 1, with a transition period extending through July 2027.
